My expertise lays in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine: Liver, bone and cartilage regeneration with the focus on the development and testing systems using biocompatible natural and synthetic materials that promote regeneration processes; tissue decellularization and characterization; investigation of biomaterial interactions with cells (endothelial, epithelial, stem cells, hepatocytes); studying biomaterials stimulating natural revascularization in situ using very low concentrations of growth factors; material-protein-controlled differentiation of stem cells into different lineages, particularly in osteogenic and chondrogenic lineage combined with promotion of vasculogenesis; in vivo tests of vascularization and bone regeneration; broadly interested in bone, cartilage and liver regeneration.
