Biography

I, Naila Qamar, The doctoral researcher at the UOULU, Finland. Biotechnology is the field of the future that is beneficial to the individual as well as the society. I want to be an element of innovation in this field, which is creating a better tomorrow for everyone. I naturally took up Medical Lab Technology as my undergraduate specialization, as I believed it would bring me closer to finding answers to the challenging questions of biology. Going beyond the precincts of the classroom, I have represented my University by being an active participant of Interprovincial Youth Exchange Programme KPK (2016). To further nourish my research interest, I joined Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (IB&GE), Kahoota Research Laboratories, Islamabad a renowned name in the Research institute and hospital as a summer intern (2016). From the internship, I have gotten a glimpse of the rigorousness of lab work along with the anxiety of anticipation, the pure exhilaration of a positive result. This has further strengthened my dream and desire to be a part of a laboratory where cutting-edge research is performed. I did my master’s degree in healthcare biotechnology from the NUST, Islamabad, Pakistan with a one-year research project entitled "toxicological and therapeutic potential of Biogenic Selenium nanoparticles in collagen-induced arthritic mice model". I worked on this project for one year and my Masters' research work is published in the ISI indexed journal "International Journal of Nanomedicine" having an impact factor of 5.115. And now I wanted to further explore the therapeutic effect of these biogenic nanoparticles on the enzymes and genes involved in the inflammation and pathogenicity of RA in my PhD. I hope it will be very successful strategy and aiming in the future, to create an effectual technology which will add value to human life.
