About YSF
The YSF represents all Early Career Researchers of the ESB.
Aims and objectives:
- Promote biomaterials education and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Provide a forum for communication for young scientists interested in biomaterials
- Enhance networking and encourage collaborations within the biomaterial’s community
- Organize meetings for dissemination of information relating to education and career in matters related to biomaterials
The YSF workshop is usually integrated in the annual conference of the ESB, that is aimed at discussing biomaterials education and training in Europe, emphasizing the existing and emerging career, as well as research opportunities in the field.
During these events, discussion is fostered by creating an interactive environment amongst participants, thus promoting an enriching discussion on topics that concern everyone who graduated, or will do so, in Biomaterials.
YSF has contributed to the creation of the Julia Polak European Doctoral Award (EDA) in cooperation with the ESB Council, and was one of the first awards announced in February 2006.
