Biography

Dr. Litowczenko-Cybulska is researcher specializing in biological sciences with extensive expertise in biomaterials and biofabrication. She obtained her PhD in Biological Sciences from Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań, with her dissertation focusing on the influence of (nano)materials topography on the behavior of human neural cells. She has held prestigious research positions, including successfully secured a Marie Curie Research Fellowship Marie Curie Individual Fellow at the Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL) in Barcelona, Spain, where she contributed to advancements in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. She has completed several research stays in leading institutions worldwide, including the University of Michigan, University College London (UCL), and the University of Valladolid, further enriching her expertise in biomedical technologies. As an assistant professor at AMU, she leads the Jagoda Lab at the Centre for Advanced Technologies, where her research focuses on developing innovative bioinks and vascularized constructs. She has secured significant independent research funding, including grants from the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Science Centre, Norwey grant, National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program. Notably, her projects, such as "Development of a Two-Component Hybrid Bioink for 3D Bioprinting of Vascularized Constructs" and "Development of a Novel Bioink for Bioartificial Pulsatile Prostheses," have fostered collaborations with international institutions.

Expertise

My primary research focus revolves around 3D bioprinting in-vitro scaffolds for tissue engineering. I thrive in an interdisciplinary environment where I combine materials science and nanotechnology with biology to address critical healthcare challenges. My work spans across a spectrum of activities, ranging from material and scaffold design to the cultivation and differentiation of stem cells, study of cell-material interactions, and functional analysis of printed tissues. Presently, I am dedicated to development novel bioinks for 3D bioprinting of human induced pluripotent stem cells derivatives.
