Gerardo Cedillo-Servin is a PhD candidate in the University Medical Center Utrecht (the Netherlands) under the supervision of Prof. Jos Malda and Dr. Miguel Castilho (Eindhoven University of Technology), working within the aims of the BRAV3 consortium funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program. Originally from Mexico, Gerardo is a materials scientist with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the William R. Graham Senior Engineering Design Award. He graduated cum laude with a Masters of Science in materials science and engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Currently, his research focuses on harnessing and converging diverse 3D printing technologies, which include electrohydrodynamic printing and extrusion bioprinting for the fabrication of stimuli-responsive composite scaffolds and mechanically active devices that deliver cardiac cells to the heart to support the repair of infarcted myocardial tissue.
