Currently, Viviana Ribeiro is a Researcher at Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina (CBQF) performing research centred in the valorization of agro-food by-products and green biotechnology-based solutions for biomedical applications in the field of skin care. The analysis of her research shows that her background follows 3 main topics: i) Natural-based biomaterials development and valorization through the exploitation of their biological potential; ii) Materials functionalization and characterization in the context of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications; iii) Cell culture design for in vitro grafts¿ validation and assessment of biocompatibility properties. Her scientific innovation reflects in 4 granted patents (WO2018/215997 A1; WO 2018/025186 A1;WO 2021/038507 A1; WO 2022/029739 A1), 1 PPP (P1519.6 PP), author of 27 publications in scientific Journals in the field (>Q1, 7 invited publications), 8 book chapters and 49 publications in international/national conferences (22 oral and 31 poster presentations). She also participated in 24 international/national scientific meetings in the field. Being corresponding author in 13 publications in important scientific Journals (>Q1) and books, she collaborated with >60 authors and co-organized several editions of the Annual Scientific Meeting Term Stem" With an h-index of 16, her proficiency resulted so far in more than 1200 citations(Source: Google Scholar) by more than 700 citing articles (Source: ISI WoK). She is reviewer for more than 30 Internatinal Journals in the field (>Q1) and some with high IF (e.g. ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering). Guest Editor of two Special Issues from Materials (https://www.mdpi.com/si/37667) and Pharmaceutics(https://www.mdpi.com/si/65652), and is currently co-Editor of the hot Research Topics "Sustainable Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine" at Frontiers in Materials, and "Woman in Biomaterials Science 2024" at Frontiers in Biomaterials Science. Her editorial contributions also include be Topical Advisory Panel Member of Pharmaceutics and Review Editor in Frontiers in Biomaterials Science(special section Bio-interactions and Biocompatibility).
