31-08-2014ESB 2014 - 26th European Conference on Biomaterials
It is a great pleasure to extend an invitation to participate in the 26th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB) to be held in Liverpool, UK from 31 August ? 3 September 2014 at ACC Liverpool (the Liverpool Echo Arena and Convention Centre), after a successful World Biomaterials Congress in May 2012 in Chengdu and ESB conference in Madrid in September 2013. The conference will be arranged by the local organising team (directed by Professor John Hunt & Dr Nick Rhodes). In addition to scientific sessions in the major branches of biomaterials and tissue engineering, the Liverpool Conference will host important satellite meetings and for our younger members, the 11th Young Scientists? Forum. The ESB is a non-profit scientific society whose main objective is to encourage progress in the field of biomaterials, in all its aspects, including research, teaching, industrial developments and clinical application. The Conference will bring together experts and scientists from academia and industry, and also those involved in funding regulatory and commercial enterprises related to biomaterials science, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The scientific and industrial sessions will include keynote lectures on thematically-related research and development addressing significant problems, current developments, planned research directions and challenges which will be presented by leading researchers in this multidisciplinary field. This invitation is extended not only to European colleagues, but to colleagues from all over the world. In the past years our Annual Conference has happily become a truly international event, with many colleagues especially from the Americas, Australia and Asia actively participating in the presentations. We are certain that Liverpool will witness an even greater international presence, something from which we will all benefit. We hope that you will take this opportunity to join us at this exciting meeting and visit Liverpool, a unique 800-year old maritime city with a rich culture of literary, artistic and musical talent, in close proximity to stunning landscapes. We look forward to seeing you in Liverpool in September 2014.
