10th World Biomaterials Congress – Description
The 10th World Biomaterials Congress (WBC 2016) will be held from May 17-22, 2016 in Montreal, Canada. The main theme is “Emerging Biomaterial Discoveries and their Impact on Society”. www.wbc2016.org
Call for Abstracts for New Frontier Symposia and General Sessions is now open until September 15, 2015.
The New Frontier Symposia have incorporated world-class scientists, clinicians and engineers as keynote speakers to attract the very best in our field to participate in the symposia. The renowned keynote speakers and contributors will help propel the Congress at the forefront of biomaterials science. As an example of the cutting edge work and excellence in science that will make up these sessions, several of the co-chairs and keynote speakers have been highlighted in a recent issue in Nature (26 March 2015; Vol 519, Issue No 7544, Pages S2 - S19), including the work of Dr. David Kaplan on engineered silk, Chao Zhong and Phillip Messersmith on bio-inspired adhesive materials, and Sangeeta Bhatia's and Christopher Chen's research on artificially constructed organs. In that same issue, an article featured bioartificial lung 'constructs', which is one of the selected themes of the Frontier Symposia. Hence, the New Frontiers Symposia at the WBC2016 have captured the spirit of current cutting edge research and will give us very exciting sessions that are truly at the forefront of science and technology.
